SSR-01 Hardpoint 3D design preview

Rev G design with 90° bends.

What the Hardpoint is designed to carry

  • Soft luggage and camp gear. Deck-edge slots align with the side-panel slots so straps can run straight from deck to side. Corner and edge points give tents, sleeping pads, and chair bags places to secure.
  • Top-case mounting options. Three deck chevrons are designed around universal top-case mounting plates, with forward and rearward positions. Confirm the specific plate and seat clearance before use.
  • A dedicated tail pattern. The Jerry Mount pattern is intended to carry a Rotopax off the tail, away from the main luggage area. Accessory availability and supported configurations will accompany the release.
  • Side-panel utility. Slots provide attachment points for MOLLE pouches and modular accessories.

What I changed after the first fit

The first Hardpoint prototype was mounted on the founder’s Sport Scout on November 5, 2026. Loaded riding results are still to come.

Cut and bent from 3/16-inch 5052 aluminum, the first prototype fit the founder’s Sport Scout on the first try and sat close to level. Installation with the stock fender bolts took about two minutes in that fit check.

Loosening the four mounting bolts allowed the front of the rack to lift for seat removal without removing the rack completely.

  • More fitting room. The design’s inside width grew by 1/16 inch, with nylon washers between the rack and fender at each bolt to help protect the paint.
  • Cleaner corners. Corner relief notches were removed.
  • A more deliberate deck. The deck layout was revised to improve the strap paths and mounting options described above.

Product details

Materials and finish

The prototype is 3/16-inch 5052 aluminum, cut and bent as one piece. It is painted; black anodizing is planned for production.

Installation and hardware

Uses the stock fender bolts and factory mounting points, with nylon washers to protect the paint. No separate risers, adapters, or brackets are required by the design. Instructions, hardware details, torque values, and clearance checks will accompany the release.

Load guidance

Rated load, luggage guidance, and mounting limitations have not yet been published. Do not infer a load rating from a prototype drawing.
